Damned rain

Grrr.. It had to rain during my Saturday commute when I cleaned my drive train the night before. Now its all dirty and grimy again.

On another note, I've been reading the blog of a fellow bicycle commuter who goes by the name of El Wey. His blog is titled Bike Commuting in SG

In Need Of Some TLC

The RM22 tires that were bought during the Malaysia trip need to be changed!
I've ordered a Michelin Speedium 2 from Chainreactioncycles and am waiting for their arrival. At $21, thats $7 than the cheapest tires found locally.

The Vee Rubber tire has gotta go after surviving about 2200km.
First, a nail punctured the tire, leaving a small little hole which I patched up with some duct tape.
Then there was another puncture few weeks back while cycling home from Toa Payoh.
And today, it caused a slow leak. Was cycling to Kallang and when I finally reached, the ride become really bumpy. Looked down and realised the tire was really soft. Managed to cycle home though.

Now that I have more free time, I've gotta do some bike maintenance.

1. Change new rear tire
2. Due a full bike cleaning
3. Replace bar tape
   

Stiff Neck

Damn. I went to get my seatpost buffed to clean away the corrosion and didnt put the saddle back in the original position.
Now, the riding position feels abit cramped and Im getting a stiff neck from riding. Must find that sweet spot again if Im gonna ride comfortably for long distances.

Chain Problems

Back in December during the Malacca ride, my chain broke. Since the pin was missing, I got to a bike shop and had it fixed for RM4.
Ever since then my chain would come off when going upslope. As time went by, it became worse and eventually, I was reduced to riding my bike as a single speed.
Decided to get to the root of the problem today and discovered a chain link that had been spread apart. It is proably why the chain kept skipping and auto-shifting. Hope the problem is solved for now.
